COUNCIL RECAP

Here is a recap of tonight's meeting:

Public hearing/Ordinance – proposed comprehensive plan for the period from 2009-2029 - The council decided to table the issue and continue the public hearing in late April. We will be working to get copies of the plan on the city's website and at the library. Copies are also available at City Hall.

Public listening session – charter ordinance increasing mayor’s term to 4 years - The Council decided to table any action until after spring.

Resolution – initiating possible vacation of a portion of Blossom Street - The Council voted to send the vacation to the Plan Commission for more study and a recommendation.

Agreement for employee assistance program – Ripon Medical Center - The Council approved a contract with Ripon Medical for mental health employee assistance at a cost of $1,115

Update – status of 2009 workplan items
* Appoint team for city website improvement - We will be looking for community members interested in providing insight and input on redesigning the city's website. Interested? Let me know - arkramer@charter.net
* Appoint team for developing the Silver Creek corridor - Interested in making recommendations on the future of the Silver Creek corridor, with the sky being the limit. Same as above - let me know.
* Discuss date for meeting with school board - The Council will meet with the School Board in May to discuss issues of common interest, including but not limited to the future of the new school on the north side of the city, near Murray Park.
