UPDATE ON SANDMAR SUBDIVISION - DECEMBER 2

This was released today:

Over the past few weeks and months, many of you have contacted me about stormwater management at Sandmar Village. Throughout this time, the City Council has continued to oversee the project, within the constraints of a developer’s agreement with New Haven Development. This document, signed in 2007, sets forth the rights and responsibilities of the City and the developer.

As you may know, the State’s Department of Natural Resources, in a letter dated June 13, 2008, directed the developer to respond to several specific concerns related to Sandmar’s stormwater management plan. Discussions have occurred since then, and the developer’s engineers are now working with State officials and others on resolving these issues. The City will continue to monitor this situation, and we will encourage the developer to fully address the State’s concerns, and to comply with all terms of the developer’s agreement.

If you wish to get a copy of the developer’s agreement, please provide a written request, and I will have one mailed to you. If you have questions, please call Lud Wurtz, City Attorney, at 745-2800 or e-mail him at wurtzlaw@dotnet.com. Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
Steve Barg
City Administrator
