HYDRANT FLUSHING

This year the Ripon Water Department will begin a new hydrant flushing program. This unidirectional flushing program will involve shutting down valves to achieve maximum scouring velocities through open hydrants. This will more effectively remove sediments, such as iron and manganese, from the distribution system. This flushing will be starting Wednesday, August 26 during the hours of 8AM to 3PM, and continuing through the end of October.

Any flushing program can potentially cause some discolored water. If you do experience this situation, run cold water only until water is clear. Please contact the Water Dept. at 748-4900 if water does not clear up.

The City of Ripon wants to provide the best water and thanks its customers for their patience during this project.
