BURN ORDINANCE DISCUSSION DELAYED

Earlier this week, I met with various members of the city staff, directed that amy firther discussion on changes to the city's Burning Ordinance be placed on hold until a presentation is made by staff (fire chief - NFPA regulations that we adopted a year ago; police chief - report on burning-related complaints received during the past year), so we have a better understanding of where we stand before considering any changes. We are going to try and get someone from the State to address the Council as well on the state's regulations on burning.

This will not occur until the September 28th Council at the earliest, and more likely will be delayed into October or November due to the other issues we are dealing with at City Hall (Boca Grande, budget, etc.). We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to pass the best possible ordinance if changes are warranted.
