RESOLUTION TO HONOR AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL TEAM

WHEREAS, the Ripon American Legion Team, consisting of members from the Ripon and Green Lake communities, did win the 2009 Wisconsin Class A State Title by virtue of a 17-7 victory over Viroqua on August 2nd, and

WHEREAS, this was the third state title for Ripon, with the others coming in 1989 and 1990, and

WHEREAS, the team competed for the national Division Two championship in Milbank, South Dakota, where they finished second in the nation, and

WHEREAS, the team finished with a spectacular 28-7 record, and

WHEREAS, the team brought a sense of civic pride and recognition to the Ripon and Green Lake area for their athletic accomplishments and high levels of sportsmanship and determination, now

THEREFORE, I, Mayor Aaron Kramer, along with the members of the Ripon Common Council and the residents of the city of Ripon, on this 24th day of August, 2009, do hereby commend the members, coaches and supporters of the Ripon American Legion team for their accomplishments.
